Alverta J. Light, 101, of Annville, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2025, at The Lebanon Valley Home. She was the wife of the late Harvey K. Light Jr., who passed away in 1999.

Alverta was born in Lebanon on June 9, 1924, to the late Robert and Maggie Mae (Strohman) Meily. She was a homemaker and a nurse’s aide at one time at The Lebanon Valley Home. Alverta was a lifelong member of Hill United Church of Christ in Cleona. Her gentle nature, warm, cheerful smile, and kindness captured the hearts of many. She had a quiet faith and gave encouragement and endearing service to her family and community. Many friends and family were treated to her delicious meals and desserts, especially her much-requested pies. Gardening, camping, traveling, cruising, and trips to the shore were some of her favorite activities. Sewing, knitting, and crafting gave her great joy. Children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were recipients of the afghans and blankets she had made.

Surviving are her children, Joan A. Adams, of Annville, and Bruce N. Light, of Lebanon; grandchildren, Sharon Steckbeck, Edward Wilk, Andrew Light, and Amanda Perdue; and great-grandchildren, Noah, Natalie, Ryder, Kyland, Griff, Anna, Alexia, and Lukas.
