Alvin B. “Al” Light, 79, of Lebanon, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2025, at WellSpan Good Samaritan Hospital. He was the husband of Sandra M. (Lockard) Light, with whom he celebrated 57 years of marriage.

Alvin was born in Lebanon on Aug. 18, 1946, to the late A. Herman and Myrtle (Bachman) Light. He obtained his master’s degree from Millersville University. He was a teacher and technology/computer coordinator at Cornwall-Lebanon School District. Al was a member of Rocherty United Methodist Church, where he was very involved in youth group activities and bible school, sang in the choir, was a Sunday school teacher, and was president of the church council. He was involved for many years in coordinating the Rocherty picnic. He enjoyed reading and watching sports, especially the Phillies, Eagles, and Penn State. Al was also known for caring for his daughter, Anne, and his family.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are his son, David A. Light (Melissa), of Lebanon; grandchildren, Jacob Light, Julie Light, and Jenna Light; sister, Kathleen Watson (Thomas), of Lebanon; niece, Lori Wright (William), of North Carolina; and great-nephew, William Wright. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Anne Marie Light; sister, June E. Watson; and brother-in-law, William Watson.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, Sept. 25, 2025, at 1 p.m., at Kreamer Funeral Home and Crematory Inc., 618 E. Main St., Annville. Interment will be at Grand View Memorial Park, Annville. There will be a viewing from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
