Amelia S. Maurer Demler Hunsicker, 99, of Myerstown, died Friday, August 27, 2021, at StoneRidge Towne Centre, Myerstown. She was the widow of Benjamin F.F. Maurer, Jr., James L. Demler, and Mark W. Hunsicker.
Born in Lebanon, on March 8, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Stella M. (Gassert) Donmoyer. A 1940 graduate of Myerstown High School, Amelia worked in the office of the Lebanon County Recorder of Deeds, she was employed as a clerk at Fort Indiantown Gap finance department, and retired from the pharmacy at the VA Hospital, Lebanon. Amelia was a member of Tabor U.C.C., Business and Professional Woman’s Club, where she was honored as Woman of the Year, the Lebanon Woman’s Club, and the Myerstown Woman’s Club, where she was a past president.
Amelia is survived by two sons, James C. Maurer, of Lebanon, and Thomas D. Maurer, husband of Toni, of Texas; step-son, James A. Demler, husband of Cathy, of Annville; grandchildren, Dallas, Benjamin, and Roderick Maurer; great-granddaughter, Victoria Maurer; step-grandchildren, Kristie and James; nine step-great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Benjamin F.F. Maurer, III, who died in 2001.
Funeral services will be held Friday, September 3, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at Grose Funeral Home, Inc., 358 W. Washington Ave., Myerstown. Preceded by a viewing beginning at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Covenant /Greenwood Cemetery Lebanon, PA.
