Andrew David Smith, affectionately known as Andy, passed away on June 6, 2024, in Moab, Utah, at the age of 33.

Born on April 25, 1991, in Lancaster, PA, he was the cherished son of David and Mary Rydock Smith.

Andrew grew up in Hummelstown, PA, and graduated from Lower Dauphin High School in 2009. Known for his caring heart, love of the outdoors, passion for music, silly humor, and authenticity, Andrew loved people with a huge smile and was everyone’s biggest cheerleader.

Andrew spent his childhood years riding four-wheelers in the woods and especially enjoyed camping trips to Knoebels with close family friends, trips to the mountains with his grandparents and cousins, and time with his family. As an adult, Andrew pursued his love of adventure with friends at the Maytown Sport Parachute Club and the incredible BASE jumping, hot air balloon, and rafting communities in Utah. He loved his SPOKE family and the town of Moab dearly.

Letting his family know he loved them was a priority for Andrew. He leaves behind his parents, David and Mary Smith; his siblings, Alicia and Steven Bates, and their children, Raeya, Tyson, and Vienna; his siblings, Julia and Jeff Wartluft, and their daughter, Evalina; his maternal grandparents, Michael and Bernie Rydock; his paternal grandparents, Kenneth and Helene Smith; and numerous aunts, uncles, cherished cousins, and friends from Pennsylvania and Moab who will miss him dearly. He was a loyal friend and encourager. Andrew always knew how to keep us laughing.

A celebration of life service followed by a meal will be held on Sunday, June 23, 2024, at 3 p.m. at Hershey Free Church located at 330 Hilltop Road, Hummelstown, PA 17036. Visitation will begin at 2:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Grand County EMS (checks mailed to 520 E. 100 North, Moab, Utah 84532, or call (435) 259-1301 for electronic options.). Andrew was so thankful for the way they cared for his BASE jumping friends.

We will always have a big hole in our hearts missing Andrew, but we will forever be thankful to the Lord for the gift of our precious guy. Heck yeah, man!
