Anita Louise “Cookie” Smith, age 74, of Lebanon, PA, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Nov. 19, 2020. Cookie was born Dec. 31, 1945, the daughter of Samuel and Ana (Whitman) Williams in Lebanon.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church. During her years, she worked a variety of jobs, but her greatest contribution was that of a homemaker. She was blessed with five children, along with 13 grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. In addition to being a wonderful mother, Cookie enjoyed the outdoors, animals, gardening, bingo, cooking, and baking (she loved her sweets. It’s no wonder she was given the nickname Cookie).
Cookie was always said to have a heart of gold. She would do anything for anyone. When she baked, all the neighborhood children would flock to her house. And it’s no wonder, baking was clearly a gift she got from her grandmother, Jenny. She will be remembered with great affection by all who knew her. Her laughter was hearty and infectious. Few could resist a smile when she began to laugh.
Cookie is survived by her five children: son, John Laudermilch, husband of Judy, son, Michael Laudermilch, husband of Kristine, daughter, Tina Marie Laudermilch, daughter, Louise Laudermilch, and daughter, Michelle Heckard, wife of Kevin; grandchildren, Lyndsey, Alexis, John Jr., Antonio, Karmeel, Michael Jr., Jacqueline, Tessa, Asia, Jazz, Chloe, Mya, and Annie; and great-grandchildren, Amber, Ava, Lawrence, Christopher Chance, Sophia, Oleander, and Orion.
An in-person celebration TBD. Cards/flowers can be sent to John Laudermilch, 243 N. Lancaster St., Annville, PA. Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. is entrusted with the arrangements. Please share your memories with the family at our online guest book at thompsonfuneralhomelebanon.com
