Ann Marie Ondrusek (Suchanek) left the physical world in the evening of July 15 after a full life lived on her terms.
Born on Nov. 18, 1962, to John and Hilda Suchanek (Tice), Ann grew up in Myerstown before moving to South Lebanon. She graduated from Cedar Crest High School in 1980 and attended Lebanon Valley College. She met Stephen J. Ondrusek in the 1980s, and they started building a life together, which included their three children, Emily, Matthew, and Lynn.
Ann was a dedicated employee at Bamberger’s Inc. for 27 years, the first seven years in the 1980s. She came back in 2005 and became The Oil Lady. In recent years, she loved teaching the younger generation the ropes of the business.
Ann was very active and enjoyed different activities throughout the years, line dancing, skiing, snowmobiling, baking, dining out with friends and family, attending local theater productions, and hanging out in the pool in the summer. As a supportive patron of the performing arts and parent, she logged many hours in the auditoriums of Cedar Crest watching chorus, band, orchestra, and theater performances and spent her best performance years in marching band with her saxophone.
Always up for an adventure, Ann would often be ready for hikes to Governor Dick and Dinosaur Rock and walks on the Rails to Trails. Her greatest joy came from beating everyone at Scrabble and Words with Friends. Seriously, how the heck did she score 100 points on a three-letter word?
Earlier in 2025, Ann was excited to welcome her grandson, Cameron, to the world and enjoyed holding and snuggling with him.
Ann very much had her own way of expressing her feelings and how she felt about everything. Her absence will leave a large void in our lives and our Words with Friends games.
Ann is survived by her sisters, Rose Wengert (Tice) and Cecilia Bamberger (Suchanek); husband, Stephen; children, Emily, Matthew, and Lynn (Dustin); grandson, Cameron; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, at St. Cecilia’s Church, 120 E. Lehman St., Lebanon, PA 17046. Interment will follow at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. A viewing will be held prior to Mass from 10-11 a.m. at the church.
