Anna Frittelli, 93, passed away peacefully on July 30, 2025, in Hershey, Pennsylvania. Her life was a testament to resilience, love, and unwavering determination.
Born on April 15, 1932, in Douglasville, Pennsylvania, Anna spent her formative years in Teramo, Italy. Her childhood was shaped by the turbulence of World War II and the Nazi occupation of Italy — experiences that forged her indomitable spirit and deep compassion for others.
In her early twenties, Anna faced the tragic accidental death of her first husband, Gaetano Ippoliti. Pregnant and undeterred by grief or uncertainty, she made the courageous decision to sail alone to America in search of a better life for herself and her unborn child. She arrived without knowing a word of English but carried with her an unshakable resolve.
Anna later married William James Gehret — a man who understood that winning Anna’s heart meant earning the approval of her daughter, Tana. Together, they built a family rooted in love and perseverance. Anna had two sons with William, William and Michael.
Throughout her life, Anna exemplified strength and selflessness. She worked tirelessly to provide for her family and ensure their success. Her actions spoke louder than words; she never made excuses and always did what needed to be done. Her kindness was as evident as her bravery; those who knew her were touched by her warmth and generosity.
Anna is survived by her daughter, Gaetana Dewire; sons, William Gehret and Michael Gehret; and grandchildren, Jonathan, Nicole, Paul, and Chloe. She was predeceased by both of her husbands, Gaetano Ippoliti and William James Gehret.
In honor of Anna’s legacy of service and compassion, memorial contributions may be made to the Lions Club at lionsclub.org or Vision Corps at visioncorps.net. May Anna’s memory continue to inspire all who knew her to live with courage, kindness, and purpose.
