Anna J. Walter, 97, of Lebanon, passed away on Friday, Dec. 22, 2023, at StoneRidge Towne Center. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, William J. Walter Sr.
Born in Wels, Austria, on April 24, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Hans and Anna (Huber) Steiner.
Anna was a member of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church and a former member of St. Gregory’s Church, where she was the housekeeper of the church rectory. Anna was a waitress at the Lebanon Country Club for 20 years, where she made many lasting friendships. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and the Women’s Club of Lebanon. Anna enjoyed gardening, baking, and the company of family and friends.
Surviving is three children, Nancy Walter, of Texas, Elizabeth Walter, of Lebanon, and Eric J. Walter, fiancé of Linda Jackson, of Lebanon; a sister, Elizabeth Steiner, of Austria; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Anna was preceded in death by her son, William J. Walter Jr.; and her sister, Wilhemena.
A public visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 4, 2024, at the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, 2 N. 8th St., Lebanon, PA 17046. A memorial mass will begin at 11 a.m. on Thursday at the church. Inurnment will be held at the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Our Lady of the Cross School, 1691 Grace Ave., Lebanon, PA 17046, in her memory. Kreamer Funeral Home and Crematory, Annville is handling arrangements.
