Anna Mae Ponessa, 91, of Lancaster, passed away on Friday, March 28, 2025, at home, surrounded by her family. She was the wife of the late William G. Ponessa.

Born in Lincoln, PA, on Dec. 4, 1933, Anna was the daughter of the late Edwin and Elizabeth (Killinger) Wenrich.

She was a member of the Church of St. Cecilia. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family. She loved watching her grandchildren grow, tending to her home, and listening to music. A wonderful cook, she took great pleasure in preparing meals and making sure that everyone was well-fed and happy. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Anna is survived by her children, Dorothy Kohr, wife of Randy, Thomas William Ponessa, husband of Donna, Timothy Ponessa, husband of Mary, and Julia Satterfield, wife of the late Russell Satterfield; seven grandchildren; one step-grandson; 19 great-grandchildren; one step-great-granddaughter; sisters, Dorothy Colamarino and Rose Hoch; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her son, William Ponessa; brother, Edwin Wenrich; and sister, Ruth Sweigart.

A viewing will be held from 10-11 a.m., followed by a service at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at St. Cecilia’s Church, 120 E. Lehman St., Lebanon, PA 17046. Interment will follow at Holy Savior Cemetery.
