Annie Murl Grant, 96, of Jonestown, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Feb. 3, in the year of our Lord 2024, at Geisinger St. Luke’s Hospital, Orwigsburg.

Annie was born in Ludowici, GA, on Oct. 26, 1927; she was the daughter of the late Annie Mae Grant.

Annie was ordained into the ministry as a Missionary at The Church of Christ Upon the Rock of the Apostolic Faith, Holy Temple #1 in Fort Lauderdale, FL. She was a homemaker to her children for many years and later served in missions in ministry with Faith Fellowship Church and River of Life Church of God. She attended Jonestown United Methodist Church. Annie enjoyed teaching Bible studies and praying for others, and in 10 minutes of conversation with her, you were bound to hear about Jesus. She was also known for her delicious sweet potato pies.

Annie is survived by her daughter, Valarie M. Moyer, of Jonestown, PA; her son, David A. (Wolf) Godwin Sr., of Egg Harbor Township, NJ; her grandchildren, Terrance D. Carter Sr., Antoinette M. Carter, Tobias B. Robinson, Clarence T. Robinson, Tasia A. Godwin, Darius A. Godwin, David A. Godwin Jr., JoAnne A. Godwin, Wolf A. Godwin, Peyton J. Meyler, Sophia T. Meyler, Juliana A. Godwin, and Journey A. Godwin; 29 great-grandchildren; and a host of adopted children through her ministry of love.

There will be a viewing from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2024, at Kreamer & Lum Funeral Home & Crematory, Rt. 72 & Camp Meeting Road, Jonestown. Her going-home service will begin at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 15, 2024, at the River of Life Church of God, 825 N. 7th St., Lebanon, PA. There will be a viewing one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at Mt. Lebanon Cemetery. Later, food will be served to family and friends in the church fellowship hall.
