It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our extraordinary Antonio Rosario, who left this world on Aug. 9, 2025, at the age of 88.
Born on Feb. 8, 1937, in Dajabon, Dominican Republic, to the late Miguel and Isabel EstĂ©vez, Antonio, “Papa” as his kids called him, lived a life dedicated to his family, his work as a farmer, and the belief that if each individual took care of their soul, we might one day live in a better world.
Antonio’s unwavering spirit and devotion to those he loved will be cherished by all who knew him. Antonio is survived by his beloved wife, Matilde Rosario, and their children, Alejandrina, Yosely, Germania, Addamilka, Josefina, Robin, (late) Victor, Elvio, Pedro, and Frank. He was a proud grandfather of 24 grandchildren, a loving great-grandfather to 32 great-grandchildren, and a dear sibling to his brother, Juan.
Throughout his life, Antonio found joy in the simple pleasures, such as playing cards, pool, and dominoes. He cherished every moment spent with family and friends, sharing laughter and love. Antonio’s legacy will live on in the hearts of his loved ones, and his memory will be held close as they navigate this profound loss. He will be dearly missed but never forgotten.
A public viewing will be held at Christman’s Funeral Home Inc. on Aug. 15, 2025, from 6-8 p.m., to honor Antonio’s memory.
Memorial contributions may be made to Schizophrenia & Psychosis Action Alliance, 2308 Mount Vernon Ave., Suite 207, Alexandria, VA 22301-1328.
