Arlene G. Speck, 85, of Myerstown, passed away on Sunday, October 23, 2022, at the WellSpan Good Samaritan Hospital, Lebanon.
Born in Annville on March 29, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Edwin L. and Jennie Reist Funck.
For over 20 years, Arlene was the owner and operator of the former Crossroads Restaurant in Lebanon. She had been a member of Kauffman’s United Methodist Church, (CLA) Center Lebanon Association, and Lebanon Historical Society, and she enjoyed volunteering at their Union Canal Days. She also attended the Salem Walmer’s Union Church. She loved local and family history.
She is survived by her son James A. husband of Karen Speck of Ono and Van, husband of Tracy Nguyen of Rowland Heights, CA; daughters Kathy S., wife of Craig Steiner of Jonestown, and Lynn M., wife of Ronald Heffner of Pine Grove; brothers Richard Funck of Lawrenceville and Glenn Funck of Scottsdale, AZ; her sister Anita Smith of AZ; and nine grandchildren, twenty-seven great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by her grandson James A. Speck, Jr.; brothers Edwin, Henry, and Ray Funck, and sisters Marion Maulfair, Eva Funck, and Doris Klobe.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, October 28, 2022, at the Kreamer & Lum Funeral Home & Crematory, Jonestown. A viewing will begin one hour prior to the service. Interment is at the convenience of the family at Mt. Annville Cemetery.
