Barbara (“Bobbi”) Rhodes, 88, of Cornwall, PA, passed away on Thursday, October 20, 2022, at her home. She was the wife of the late Fred S. Rhodes.

Born and raised in Brooklyn, N.Y., Bobbi was a graduate of Erasmus Hall High School, Brooklyn, N.Y., and received a scholarship to/graduated from Brooklyn Museum Art School. She was a graduate of William Patterson University in N.J. and earned a BA, Class of 1970.

Her various jobs included textile design, wallpaper design, elementary school art teaching, working as a N.J. real estate agent, Co-owner/Director: The Glen Gallery, Cedar Knolls, N.J., and worked as an Interior Decorator.

Over the years, her hobbies included sewing, printmaking, gardening, interior decorating, solving the New York Times crossword puzzles, and attending film festivals.

Barbara is survived by her daughter; Loren (Rhodes) Chasalow, and her husband, Lewis, of Annville, PA, her son; Scott Rhodes of N.Y., her sister; Gail Orofino and her husband Tony, of S.C., Grandchildren: Elizabeth Irvine and her husband Dan, of N.H., and Brian Chasalow of CA, Dante Rhodes of N.Y., and Paris Rhodes of N.Y. Great-grandchildren include Peter Jarvela, Daphne Jarvela, and Finnegan Irvine of NH. Nieces include Heidi Spano and her husband Peter of FL, and Shula Elsner and her husband Alan of MD. Barbara was also survived by several great nephews: Micha Elsner of OH, Noam Elsner and his wife Melissa in Germany, and Eli Kirstein of MA. Great nieces include Maya Kirstein of MA, Emily Kirstein of MA, and Jasmine Spano and her fiancé Bryce Gussin of SC. Barbara also had one Great-great niece; Bella Gussin of SC.

Upon her passing, the universe lost a highly creative and spunky woman. In recent years, Barbara wanted the world to know that “I have lived a passionate and creative life, and I am grateful.”

Memorial arrangements will be handled privately by the family.
