Barbara E. Hehnly, 83, of Myerstown, passed away on Friday, Aug. 22, 2025, at her home. She was the wife of the late Earl E. Hehnly, with whom she celebrated 62 years of marriage at the time of his passing in 2024. Barbara was born in Lebanon County on Dec. 21, 1941, a daughter of the late Myles and Edna Ruhl Hammer.
Barbara graduated from Ephrata High School and attended Roxborough Nursing School. She worked for various nursing homes across Lebanon and Lancaster counties as an activities assistant. Barbara enjoyed vacationing in Maine with Earl for many years. She was very active in the York and Lebanon fairs, participating in the sheep-to-shawl. She had a passion for weaving, knitting, gardening, making bows and balsam wreaths, and was a former board member of Historic Schaefferstown.
Barbara is survived by her children, Bryon Hehnly (Brenda), Betsy Hehnly, Bruce Hehnly, and Amie Hehnly; grandchildren, Zachary (Leah) and Johnathan (Christine); great-grandchildren, Myles, Maxwell, Adaline, and Grayson; and siblings, Bernie Redcay (late Harlan), Blanch Lozar (Thomas), Jessie Hammer (Pam), Tom Hammer (Pat), Rebecca Nehring (John), and Peter Hammer (Bonnie). She was predeceased by her sister, Brenda Hehnly.
