A beloved father, Barry James Gibble, passed away unexpectedly on July 8, 2023, at South Mountain, at the age of 76. He was the husband of the late Nancy M. (Brown) Gibble, who passed away in 2009. His family is deeply saddened by his sudden death.
Barry was born in Lebanon, Pennsylvania. He was raised by his loving grandparents, John and Mary Gibble.
He worked as a tire repair mechanic for most of his adult life. Prior to his retirement, he had been employed with Carlos Leffler Inc. for many years.
When Barry was not at work or tinkering out in his garage, he enjoyed hunting, watching NASCAR, and spending time at his cabin in Potter County. He was an avid fan of Dale Earnhardt Sr. and Richard Petty. Barry was well-known for tenacious work ethic, as well as being strong-willed and stubborn at times. He also had an enormous heart and a smile that would light up the room. During Barry’s later years, he received much joy from spending time with his family and going out to eat at the Flamingo Restaurant. It brought him great pleasure to place copious amounts of ketchup on each French fry. When he was not consuming ketchup, he loved his trips to Walmart to buy his many cases of Coca-Cola, or his golf cart rides with his best friend, Shawn.
He is survived by two daughters, Tammy, wife of Dave Dilling, of Williamsburg, PA, and Louisa, wife of Jason Arnt, of Murrells Inlet, SC; one son, William Gibble, of Pottsville; nine grandchildren, Travis, Chadd, and Luke Carroll, Amanda and Joshua Ream, Hannah Arnt, and Samantha, Miranda, and Milinda Gibble; seven great-grandchildren, Wesley Ream, Lyra Wolfe, Easton Dell, Tyler and Aubrey Carroll, and Caelen Cook; one half-brother, Jack Deurer, and wife, Bonnie; and one half-sister, Jill, wife of Lee Auchenbach.
He was preceded in death by the love of his life – his wife, Nancy Gibble; a great-grandson, Liam Ream; and mother, Mildred Strangarity.
Funeral services will be held Friday, July 14, 2023, at 11 AM from Kreamer Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 618 E. Main St., Annville. Interment will follow at Grand View Memorial Park, Annville. A viewing will be held one hour prior to his service at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Myerstown Church of the Brethren, 51 W. Stoever Ave., Myerstown, PA 17067, where Barry was a member.
