Bernice A. Barron, 84, of Lebanon, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 31, 2024, at Cedar Haven Healthcare Center. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Leonard E. Barron.
Born in Coaldale, PA, on Nov. 15, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Irene (Fritzinger) Petrash.
She was originally from Summit Hill, and in 2004, she moved in with her daughter, Joy, and family where she spent many happy years watching her grandchildren grow up. Bernice retired from being a direct care worker and was dedicated to taking care of and helping others. She enjoyed painting ceramics and adult coloring books. She loved animals and enjoyed spending time cuddling and playing with her dogs and her cat that she had over her lifetime. She is meeting them all at the rainbow bridge, getting many kisses. She had a sweet soul, and we will miss her very much.
Bernice is survived by five children, Debbie Kovich, of Lansford, PA, Roxanne Rusnak, of Summit Hill, PA, Frank Rusnak, of Pottsville, PA, Denise Lloyd, and Joyce A. Light, wife of Michael, of Cleona, PA; a brother, Paul Petrash, husband of Arlene, of Lake Havasu, AZ; nine grandchildren; one step-grandchild; and five great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Bernice was preceded in death by her stepmother, Anna Petrash.
Services will be held at the convenience of the family.
