Bernice K. Werni, 84, of Lickdale, passed away on Monday, Jan. 19, 2026, at the WellSpan Good Samaritan Hospital in Lebanon. She was the wife of Stephen J. Werni. They celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary this past May.

Born in Lebanon on Sept. 21, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Howard J. and Mabel M. (DeHart) Brandt. Bernice was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Lickdale. She enjoyed doing seamstress work, quilting, gardening, baking, making opera fudge, and, most of all, spending time with her family.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son, Steve Werni, of Lickdale, and his fiancée, Rose Kane; daughter, Stephenie, wife of Charles Steck, of Jonestown; grandchild, Anjali Miller; great-grandchildren, Kennedy and Sawyer; and sisters, Grace M. Oxenreider, of Lebanon, Martha M., wife of Warren Wagner, of Myerstown, and Rose, wife of John Richard, of Lancaster.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 23, 2026, at Kreamer & Lum Funeral Home & Crematory, Jonestown. There will be a viewing from 1:30 p.m. until the start of the service. Interment will follow at Bethel E.U.B. Church Cemetery.
