Bessie Octavia (Plessinger) Detweiler, 95, of Fredericksburg, PA died peacefully at home on Friday, May 13, 2022.

She was born on March 13, 1927, to Elijah Darlington and Bessie Virginia (Smith) Plessinger.

She married Lloyd K. Detweiler on October 19, 1946. They enjoyed 61 years of marriage.

Surviving is her daughters JoAnne (Linford) Swartzentruber of Shoemakersville, PA, Linda (Timothy) Derstine of Mapleton Depot, PA, and Karen (Mark) Siegrist of Fredericksburg, PA; son-in-law Lester Reinford; brother-in-law Sam Rittenhouse; 32 grandchildren; 105 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.

Bessie was preceded in death by her husband Lloyd, daughter Kathy Reinford, grandson Leslie Reinford, her parents, three brothers, and three sisters.

A viewing will be held on Friday, May 20, 2022, from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Swatara Mennonite Church, 10 Camp Swatara Rd., Myerstown. The funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 21, at the church. Interment will follow in the adjoining church cemetery.
