Betsy Long Rebol (“Geebie”), 82 years old, passed away peacefully on Jan. 11, 2025, at 5:16 a.m. Betsy grew up in Lebanon, PA, and throughout her life, called many places home, including Rochester, NY, Binghamton, NY, Buffalo, NY, Marietta, GA, and Canton, GA.
Betsy married her best friend and love of her life, John Rebol. They were married for 31 years. At the age of 52, John passed away, leaving Betsy a widow. She embraced her role as a devoted mother and grandmother, dedicating herself to her children’s and grandchildren’s lives. She rarely missed a sporting event and especially cherished traveling across the country to watch her grandchildren’s tennis tournaments.
Betsy found joy on the golf course, playing in tournaments and sharing laughs with her friends. She also enjoyed playing tennis in various leagues with friends. Her passion for family and friendships has left a legacy of love and warmth.
She was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers and Buffalo Bills fan and would very rarely miss a game. She loved watching football, tennis, and golf while knitting so many items, especially her fabulous “Geebo blankets.”
Betsy is survived by her brothers, Theodore Long and Thomas Long; sons, John T. Rebol, Kent Rebol, and Jeremy Rebol; daughter-in-law, Nancy Rebol; and beloved grandchildren, Amanda, Max, and Cassidy.
A celebration of Betsy’s life will be held on March 14, 2025, at Johnson Ferry Baptist Church (Chapel), at 11 a.m.
Betsy’s vibrant spirit, unwavering devotion to family, and love for life will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
