Betty J. “Bubbles” Dechert, 89, of Myerstown, passed away on Monday, Feb. 2, 2026, at Myerstown Nursing & Rehab.

Born in Meckville on Jan. 2, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Homer R. and Myrtle M. (Small) Dechert. Betty worked for 48 years in the poultry processing field. She was a dedicated employee for Grimes Poultry and stayed on as it was purchased by Pennfield Corp. She was proud to have worked in every department except one over her 48 years, taking extra shifts whenever the company needed. Over the years, Betty belonged to the Frystown and Mount Aetna fire company social halls. She enjoyed spending time there chatting with friends.

Betty was the last surviving of her siblings. Preceding her in death were her sister, Pauline; and brothers, Charles, Harvey, Homer, James, Richard, Joe, Earl, Leroy, and Ralph Dechert.

A private burial will be at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Fredericksburg.
