Betty L. Hower, 92, of Lebanon, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 31, 2026, at Lebanon Valley Home, Annville. She was the wife of the late Raymond G. Hower, who passed away on April 11, 2022.
Born in Lebanon on March 22, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Phillip and Mary (Merkey) Keller. She was a member of the former St. John’s United Church of Christ in Jonestown and a former member of St. Mark’s United Church of Christ in Lebanon. She worked in the cafeteria at Ebenezer Elementary School for 25 years until she retired. She enjoyed traveling with her husband across the U.S. and to many other countries. She became part of the card club when she moved to Kindred Place. She liked to bake and make cookies for the residents. She served as a past president of the ladies’ circle at her church. Betty made friends easily and was a social butterfly. She also loved sending cards to people. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her son, Timothy R., husband of Tam Hower, of Mount Gretna; daughters, Diana L., wife of Dennis Fox, of Lebanon, and Tina M. Hower, and fiancé, Dennis, of Lebanon; grandchildren, David, husband of Stephanie, Matthew, husband of Ariel, Thomas, husband of Allie, Nathan, husband of Nikki, Cassidy, and Sydney; seven great-grandchildren; and sister, Mardella, wife of Richard Folmer, of Lebanon. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Phillip, Melvin, and William Keller; and sister, Shirley Keller.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 12, 2026, at Kreamer & Lum Funeral Home & Crematory, Jonestown. There will be a visitation from 9:30 a.m. until the start of the service. A private inurnment will be at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
