Betty M. Herb, 84, of Myerstown, went into the presence of her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2024, in the comfort of her own home surrounded by family. She was the wife of Leroy O. Herb, with whom she celebrated 57 years of marriage on Aug. 26.

Betty’s primary joy was to serve her family as a homemaker, mother, and grandmother. She was a lover of people, and ministering to others was a God-given gift that she used well. Betty was a very active and faithful member of the Lebanon Bible Fellowship Church, where she and Leroy served as youth leaders for 25 years. She also used her gift of teaching children about God and His Word. She helped to develop and write the curriculum for the church’s Day Camp program, which still runs to this day. For several years, she was a member of the WCTU. Betty also enjoyed gardening and was an excellent grammarian.

Born in Harrisburg on Nov. 26, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Clyde F. and Sarah Eby Ensminger. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son, Michael L., husband of Tanya Herb, of Myerstown; daughter, Catherine L. Herb, of Myerstown; sister, Sarah, wife of the late Ronald Seiger, of Lewisberry; and grandchildren, Benjamin M., husband of Claudia Herb, of Newhall, CA, and Elijah D. Herb, of Myerstown. She had many nieces and nephews, who she loved dearly.

Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 28, 2024, at the Bible Fellowship Church, 1635 Mill Road, Lebanon. There will be a viewing at the church from 6-8 p.m. on Friday evening and one hour prior to the service on Saturday. Interment will follow at Mount Lebanon Cemetery.
