Bonnie M. Rieker, 100, of Cleona, passed away on Thursday, August 18, 2022, at her residence. She was the loving wife of the late Francis W. Rieker, who passed in 1971.
Born in Annville, PA, on March 3rd, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Dominic and Nellie (Frattaroli) Bernardo.
Bonnie was an original and lifelong member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Annville, where she served for many years as the Program Chair for the Over 50 Club. Bonnie spent most of her career working in management positions in the women’s retail industry, served as chair of the American Cancer Society’s Nurse of Hope program, and served in various leadership roles at the Lebanon Plaza and Central Medical Ambulance.
Surviving is a daughter, Kathy M. Minnich, wife of Larry of Cleona, two sons, Dr. Patrick Rieker of Hershey, Dr. Michael Rieker, husband of Lisa, of Winston-Salem, NC, and four grandchildren, Nathan Minnich, Alexandra Rieker, Nicholas Rieker, and Julianna Rieker.
In addition to her husband, Bonnie was preceded in death by five brothers, Albert Bernardo, Alfred Bernardo, Valentino Bernardo, John Bernardo, Edward Bernardo, and two sisters, Mary Willman and Stella Aquiler.
A public viewing will be held from 10:00 AM-11:00 AM on Friday, August 26, 2022, at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 125 Spruce St. Annville, PA 17003. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 AM at the Church. Interment will be held at Grand View Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in her memory.
