Brenda Haverstick passed away peacefully at her home in Lebanon on Oct. 22, 2025, at the age of 78. Brenda was a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to many. During the final weeks of her life, Brenda was surrounded by the love and care of her children and grandchildren, sharing heartfelt visits and happy hours with dear friends. She found joy in so many of her favorite things one last time — getting her hair done, a pedicure, old-fashioned cocktails, her mother’s potato filling, a family meal at TratFrat, and the comfort of having all four of her children home with her.
Brenda was married to the late Dr. Park Haverstick in 1979 and enjoyed 44 years of partnership prior to his passing in 2023. She was the mother to Rebecca Haverstick, married to Adam Schwartz, of Brooklyn, NY, Park Haverstick II, married to Danielle Haverstick, of Myerstown, PA, Anne Haverstick Frederick, partner of Blaine Troutman, of Myerstown, PA, and Donald Haverstick, married to Rachael Haverstick, of Lititz, PA. Brenda was the proud grandmother to ten grandchildren: Willa and Louisa Schwartz, Dylan and Wyatt Haverstick, Cru, Max, and Finn Frederick, and Elaina, Natalie, and Maci Haverstick.
Brenda was a lifelong educator and devoted mentor. After a brief period spent in a convent, which facilitated her education, she began her career as an elementary school teacher. Brenda continued on to earn two master’s degrees and spent the majority of her professional life serving the Eastern Lebanon County School District as an elementary school principal, where she guided generations of students and teachers with care and wisdom over a three-decade-long career.
Outside of her career, Brenda shared a special bond with her dear friend of more than 40 years, Dr. Linda Brewer, and enjoyed time with many friends and meals at Trattoria Fratelli Restaurant in Lebanon, PA. Throughout her life, Brenda enjoyed many trips to New York City to catch a Broadway show and drink at Sardi’s, and spoke often of her memories of trips to Bermuda.
Brenda’s greatest pride was her 10 grandchildren, and the joy she found in her role as their BB was the highlight of her later years. She attended many sporting and extracurricular events, organized several family vacations, and created lifelong memories during her favorite times – holidays, summertime, and trips with her family.
Brenda is survived by her children; grandchildren; sister, Beverly Koberlein; nieces; and husband’s siblings, Jean Miesner, Paul Haverstick, and Jane Fuhrman, and their families. She was predeceased by her parents; sister, Susan Bolcar; and brother, Steven Bolcar.
Family and friends are welcome to join in a celebration of life on Saturday, Nov. 8, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., at Old Michters Distillery, 219 Michters Road, Newmanstown, PA 17073 (just South of Schaefferstown off Route 501).
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to ELCO Education Foundation in Brenda’s honor to support grants for teachers – P.O. Box 553, Myerstown, PA 17067. Grose Funeral Home, Myerstown, has been entrusted with the arrangements.
