Brian M. Rump, 70, passed away on Aug. 1, 2025, peacefully and surrounded by love at his home in Lebanon, PA.
Brian Rump was born on Feb. 20, 1955, in Lebanon, PA, to John and Winifred (VanWinkle) Rump. He was a long-time employee of PRL Inc., but he was best known for his love of sports.
He dedicated over four decades of his life as an official for the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association (PIAA). He was deeply passionate about encouraging youth sport programs and would make the time to teach anyone willing to listen or reach out. Brian was always seen sporting Phillies, Green Bay, Penn State football, and wrestling attire, or the colleges and teams where his children and grandchildren participated. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved camping, hunting, and fishing, and was a member of the R. Field and Stream Association. He was also very blessed to be a part of an amazing church family that has helped him on his journey, the South Lebanon Community Church.
Brian is survived by his wife, Carmen (Young) Rump; daughters, Shannon (Todd) Winsett, Alicia Rump (Robert Gross), and Brianne (Shannon) Zimmerman; grandchildren, Alaya Ward (Joshua Edwards), Brooke Zimmerman, Thomas Winsett, Gwen Zimmerman, and Lily Gross; siblings, Margo (the late Toby) Tobias, Frank (Linda) Rump, and John (companion Sue) Rump; along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He will also be deeply missed by Brian’s fourth Rump daughter (as many knew, her and Alicia were connected at the hip), Jamie (Chris) Harris, family, and last but not least, the family’s beloved dog, Widget.
Services will be held on Monday, Aug. 11, at 2 p.m., at the South Lebanon Community Church, 13 Evergreen Road, Lebanon, PA. In our best efforts to honor Brian, we ask that you wear your favorite sports attire to the service and join us immediately after for snacks and refreshments at SLCC Family Life Center.
Memorial donations can be made in Brian’s name to the South Lebanon Community Church or the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
