Cacilie K. Shay, 88, of Lebanon, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2026. She was the wife of the late Richard K. Shay and was preceded in death by her brother, Wolfgang Feldner (Germany).

Born in Pirmasens, Germany, on July 3, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Wilhelm Feldner and Friederika (nee Hirth, Feldner) Stoffel. She, her husband, and children spent many years living overseas during her husband’s Air Force career before settling in her husband’s hometown of Lebanon. For a few years, they owned and operated the former Shay’s Motel in Myerstown. She worshiped in the Catholic faith, and her greatest pleasure and joys were being a wife, mother, and “Oma” to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her favorite pastimes besides spending time with family and friends were cooking German food, gardening, and reading.

She is survived by her son, Richard A. (Magitta) Shay; daughter, Eleonore I. Shay, and her partner, Pete, all of Lebanon; brothers, Heinrich Feldner and Karl Heinz Hirth, both of Germany; grandchildren, Kenneth (Alison) Kline and Karl (Sarah) Koons; and great-grandchildren, Alaina, Kira, Dakoda, Dylan, and Mia.

Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 16, 2026, at the Kreamer & Lum Funeral Home & Crematory, Jonestown. There will be a visitation from 1 p.m. until the start of the service. Inurnment will be at a later date at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
