Capt. Gregory D. King, 70, of Palmyra, passed away peacefully at home with family by his side on Wednesday, October 20, 2021. He was born Wednesday, October 3, 1951, to Virgie Marie (Furness) King and the late William Walter King.  He is survived by his loving wife, Brenda L. (Beach) King.

Gregory was a proud police office for Harrisburg.  He was head of homicide and also worked security for the Farm Show, Holiday Inn, Hershey Estates, and also the Milton Hershey School.  Gregory also coached little league baseball for Palmyra. He was a man of many interests including; the Mets, PennState, playing poker, fishing, flying planes, and cars.  He was a funny, kind, well-liked man who was a father and mentor to many.  Most importantly he was a loving husband, father, son, grandfather, and brother.

In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by his son: Michael Gregory King and wife Yvette Marie Grier King; step-grandson Bryant Grier and his grandmother Rosetta Grier; brother, Lawrence William King; sisters-in-law, Connie Frederick and husband Jim, Karen Leblanc and husband William, Kenda Beach and wife Kathy Cromwell, and Lu Ann Beach and significant other Joseph Reilly; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 30, 2021, at 4:00 p.m. at the family residence.  A time of visitation will take place from 2:00-3:00 p.m. at the Rothermel-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 25 W. Pine St., Palmyra, PA 17078.
