Carol A. Zickler, 81, of Mechanicsburg, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2025, at UPMC West Shore. She was the wife of Edward L. Zickler Jr. On July 23, they celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary.

Born in Northampton on Aug. 30, 1944, Carol was the daughter of the late Fred and Anna F. Sharkazy Getz. For over 30 years, she worked as a town correspondent for the Times News in Lehighton. She was an active member of the former Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Nesquehoning, where she was a CCD teacher and sang in the choir. For many years, she was a member of the Nesquehoning Women’s Club and served as its president. She loved reading, crocheting, bird watching, attending her grandchildren’s sporting events, and going to the beach at Assateague Island.

In addition to her husband, Carol is survived by her son, Bryle J., husband of Courtney Zickler, of Jonestown; daughters, Jacqui S. Morgans, of Jim Thorpe, and Kira L. Zickler, of Mechanicsburg; and grandchildren, Dr. Brendan Morgans, Blake Morgans, and Molly and Owen Zickler.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2025, at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. A procession will leave at 12:30 p.m. from the Kreamer & Lum Funeral Home & Crematory, Jonestown.
