Carroll Richard Snoke, 96, a World War II veteran from Lebanon, PA, peacefully passed away on Feb. 6, 2024.
Carroll retired from Sheridan Slag Corporation, where he was the Vice President of Operations. He was active in Kiwanis for many years and served two terms as Lieutenant Governor of the local chapter.
His adventurous spirit took him to many places all over the world, with his most memorable being Russia and Kazakhstan, where he traveled for business purposes. He loved hunting and fishing and was a founding member of the Studebaker Camp at “Deer Camp” in Slate Run, PA. Carroll was a fun-loving, gentle, and humble person who embraced life and lived it to the fullest, always taking the time to smell the roses. He was a gentle giant who was loved by everyone, especially this family. He will be deeply missed.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 73 years, Ingeborg Maria Kampe, whom he met while serving in the army in Germany; his sister, Lucille Hostetter; and his parents, Mahlon Hetrick Snoke and Ruth Yorty Snoke. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
He is survived by his three daughters, Patricia Snoke, of New Holland, PA, Linda Light (Bruce), of Lebanon, PA, and Melodee Snoke-Bullock (Gregory P.), of Alexandria, VA; his son, Kevin Snoke (Nancy), of Lancaster, PA; five grandchildren, Andrew Light, Amanda Perdue, Adam Snoke, Alexander Bullock, and Kevin Bullock; and 11 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Lyndith Garosi; and his brother, Larry Snoke.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Feb. 15, 2024, at 11 a.m., from Kreamer Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 618 E. Main St., Annville. Interment will be private at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. A viewing will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of his service at the funeral home.
