Charles Arthur Hornickell, born on July 13, 1928, in Lebanon, PA, passed away peacefully on Aug. 8, 2025, at Cornwall Manor in Cornwall, PA. He lived a remarkable life marked by service, dedication, and family devotion.
After graduating from high school, Charles proudly served in the U.S. Army, where he exemplified the values of duty and honor. His commitment to community and service continued throughout his life. He was renowned as the oldest Masonic Postmaster of Mount Lebanon Lodge 226, a position that speaks to both his leadership and dedication. In addition to this role, he served as the Secretary of Mount Lebanon Lodge 226 for over 20 years, contributing significantly to the fraternity and the many lives it touched.
Charles was a devoted husband to his wife, Mabel E. (Leed) Hornickell, and a loving father to his daughters, Wendee Sue Kline, Sherri Hornickell Wilbur, and Jodi Lynn Harley. He is also survived by his son, Charles Daniel Hornickell; sister, Sandra Twigg; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his father, Arthur Hornickell; mother, Esther (Schroff) Hornickell; and siblings, Gloria Hornickell, Betty Kreiser, and Karl Hornickell.
Charles leaves behind a legacy of familial love, community service, and unwavering commitment to his principles. His contributions to the Masonic Lodge, along with his military service, will be remembered by those whose lives he touched. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends, who hold his memory close to their hearts.
