Charles Edward “Charlie” Gallop, 66, of Myerstown, PA, died on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at his residence. He was the husband of Kay Marie (Layser) Gallop, to whom he was married on Sept. 11, 1982.

Born in Chicago, IL, on June 11, 1959, he was a son of the late Howard Lee and Gloria Ann (Baxter) Gallop. Charlie was a 1977 graduate of Cedar Crest High School and attended Lycoming College, where he studied business. He was employed as a Metallurgy Lab Tech at Alcoa, Lebanon, PA, for 20 years.

Charlie loved working on projects around the house, caring for the outdoor cats, fireworks, enjoying the outdoors, traveling to Michigan and Myrtle Beach, and spending time with his family. He was an avid car enthusiast, and he would rebuild junkers in his garage and claimed to have owned over 60 different cars in the last 50 years.

In addition to his wife, Charlie is survived by his daughters, Kelly Joy (nee Gallop), wife of Jeremy Miles Ulrich, and Kimberly Nicole (nee Gallop), wife of Andrew James “Andy” Urquhart; mother-in-law who was like a second mother to him, Julia Layser; brother, James Winston Gallop, husband of Donna (Houck); grandsons, Mason Jeremy and Owen Parker Ulrich; nephews, Andrew Ryan and Jared James Gallop; and niece, Megan Elizabeth, wife of Matthew Fredrick.
