Charles J. Heberling, 93, of Myerstown, died Saturday, March 27, 2021, at Manor Care Health Services, Lebanon. He was the husband of the late Lorraine J. (Lafferty) Heberling, who died in 1999.
Born in Myerstown on March 20, 1928, he was a son of the late Charles O. and Mary E. (Kline) Heberling. A 1946 graduate of Myerstown High School, Charles worked at Sterling Drug Co. Myerstown., for 43 years.
He was a member of Friedens Lutheran Church where he served as the secretary/treasurer for 51 years. Charles was the Scout Master for Troop 28 at Friedens Lutheran Church for 10 years. He served 21 years as the treasurer for Myerstown Sewer Authority, 7 years as a board member of the Myerstown Lions Club. Charles was a lifetime member of Lebanon County Fireman’s Assn., and Myerstown First Aid Unit. A member of Goodwill & Keystone Fire Co., Myerstown, Myerstown Rod & Gun club, North American Hunting Club, PA Farm Bureau, Moose Club, and numerous charities and environmental groups, Charles enjoyed hunting & woodworking.
Charles is survived by a daughter, Dianne L., wife of Hugh Elliott, of FL, a son, David C. Heberling, husband of Brenda, of Gettysburg, five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, companion, Paulette Krick, and several nieces & nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Lindermuth.
A public viewing will be held Monday, April 5, 2021, from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at Grose Funeral Home Inc., 358 W. Washington Ave., Myerstown, PA 17067. Funeral Services and interment are private.
