Charles T. Brestensky Sr., 84, of Cleona, PA, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 1, 2026.
He was born on Sept. 8, 1941, in New Kensington, PA. Chuck was a graduate of Freeport Area High School, Penn State University–New Kensington, and Tri-State University, now known as Trine University, in Angola, IN. He was drafted and proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.
Chuck worked for more than 30 years as a mechanical engineer at ALCOA–Lebanon Works in South Lebanon. He was a dedicated engineer who took pride in his work and the many years he spent with ALCOA.
Chuck’s focus in life was his family. He especially enjoyed spending time with his sons and took great joy in his grandchildren. He was also passionate about antique farm machinery and had a particular love for Farmall and International Harvester “RED” tractors. His interest in antique tractors was more than a hobby; it was something that gave him countless opportunities to spend time and bond with his son, Chuck Jr. Together, they loved traveling to different antique tractor shows in Pennsylvania and across the country, making memories along the way and sharing their passion for the old tractors they both enjoyed so much.
Chuck was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Annville. He was also a longtime member of the former Troop 46 of the Boy Scouts of America in Lebanon. He enjoyed helping at Camp Bashore during the off-season, where he and his friend, Bill, would lend their time and talents to fixing and repairing things around the camp.
Chuck was preceded in death by his wife, June P. Brestensky; and siblings, Joseph Brestensky, Rita Szul, John Brestensky, and Daniel Brestensky.
He is survived by his sons, Charles T. Brestensky Jr. (Catherine Brestensky), of Harrisburg, and Robert J. Brestensky (Abigail Brestensky), of Mount Joy; and beloved grandchildren, Anna Brestensky, of Harrisburg, and Charlotte Brestensky, of Mount Joy.
Chuck will be remembered for his love of family, his dedication to his work, his willingness to lend a helping hand, and his passion for antique farm machinery. Above all, he cherished the time he spent with his children and grandchildren and the memories they made together.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 11, 2026, at 11 a.m., at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 125 S. Spruce St., Annville. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. Viewings will be held on Monday, Aug. 10, 2026, from 6-9 p.m., at Kreamer Funeral Home & Crematory Inc., 618 E. Main St., Annville, where the Rosary will be recited at 8:45 p.m. An additional viewing will be held on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of his funeral mass at the Church.
