On Thursday March 26, 2020, Charlotte A. Blount, age 88, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by the love and light of family. She was born August 18, 1931 in Tallapoosa, Georgia to the late Clarence and Grace Hill Ellis. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters-in-law, Merrill and Merlyn Ellis, Jason and Emily Ellis, and Julius and Sylvia Ellis.

Charlotte enjoyed talking of her childhood years growing up in Georgia on her family’s farm. As a young girl, she delighted in visiting her father’s country store for penny candy, fishing in the family pond, and helping her daddy in the fields picking cotton with her siblings. She was always interested in government and politics since her daddy was an active member in his community.

While attending a Billy Graham service in Atlanta, Georgia, Charlotte came to know Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior. Her faith led her to study Bible at Tennessee Temple where she married her sweetheart of sixty-five years, Mr. Clyde Blount, Jr. Her greatest joy in life was her role of wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, and great-grandmother. From compiling meticulous family keepsakes of photos, school records and art projects, to making family phone calls and hosting special visits, to baking home-made roles and squeezing fresh lemonade, to growing a garden for green beans, and to watching her loved ones with pride, her joy was to love her family and her family was the light and love of her life.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Clyde Blount Jr., of Lebanon; son, Philip Blount, of Santa Cruz; son and daughter-in-law, Stephen and Millie Blount, of Lebanon; grandchildren, Jeremy Blount and wife Nicole Blount, Brittany Blount, and Nathaniel Blount; great-grandchildren, Jacob Blount, Malachi Blount, Andrew Blount, and Kinley Blount, and sister and brother-in-law Gladys and Howard Smith, of Waco, and sisters-in-law Carolyn T. Ellis, of Tallapoosa, and Carolyn G. Ellis, of Waco, and cherished nephews, nieces, and cousins in Georgia.

Due to the COVID-19 epidemic, an intimate funeral service will be held on Monday, March 30, 2020 at 10:00am from Kreamer Funeral Home, Annville PA, with grandson, Jeremy Blount officiating. A private interment will follow at Fort Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family is asking to contribute to a collection of keepsakes by sending cards or favorite memories to the attention of Clyde Blount at 557 Diamond Drive Lebanon, PA 17042 or as an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be made to True Life Youth Ministries.
