Christine M. “Teenie” Hopple, 86, of Myerstown, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 17, 2021, at the WellSpan Good Samaritan Hospital. She was the wife of the late George B. Hopple, who passed away in 2005.

Christine was born in Lebanon on Dec. 21, 1934, to the late George and Catharine (Miller) Harner. She was a 1952 graduate of Annville High School and obtained her associate’s degree from Lebanon Valley College. She was a librarian for Lebanon Valley College and the Annville Free Library. She was a professional seamstress and had made quilted wall hangings and quilts. After her retirement, Christine and George traveled extensively, visiting all 50 states. She was a member of Zion United Methodist Church in Myerstown. She was involved with the Zion Methodist Women’s Club, where she served as secretary of the club, as well as with the Women’s Prayer Breakfast and Friends of Old Annville. She enjoyed playing cards with her card club. She was a talented gardener and many folks admired her flowers and waterfalls. She was a great baker and cook, having made cookies and soups for various church events. Her greatest love was her beloved children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Surviving is her children, Julianne L. “Julie,” and her husband, Gerald Strickler, of Lebanon, PA, George B. Hopple, Jr., and his wife, Kathy, of Palo Alto, CA, William C. Hopple, of Annville, PA, six grandchildren, Derek, Daryl, Dustin, Kerry, Nicholas “Nick,” and Emily, seven great-grandchildren, and a sister, Catharine Albright, of Palmyra, PA. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Richard Harner, Luther Harner, Daniel Harner, Florence Strupp, Hilda Templin, Marie Cassidy, and Lillian Brumm.

Because of the current pandemic, a service will be held privately. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
