Claude W. Keyser Jr., 94, went home to be with his Lord on June 21, 2023, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Middletown, PA, the son of the late Claude and Vara DeHart Keyser.
Claude was raised in Middletown, graduating from Middletown High School in 1947. He had a long outstanding career with Metropolitan Edison, spanning over 42 years.
He was united in marriage with the late Norma D. Keyser on July 24, 1982. They traveled extensively and saw the world together, holding hands. They truly loved and mastered the art of ballroom dancing.
Claude had a life-long affair with hunting on his farm in Juniata County, flying his airplane, and boating on the Chesapeake Bay. He excelled at making jokes, grafting trees, and teaching his grandsons how to hunt. Claude was painstakingly interested in politics and read any history book he could get his hands on. Claude was a life member of the Odd Fellows, Middletown, PA, a benefactor life member of the NRA, and a faithful member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church.
Claude often told his family he lived a wonderful and full life, even on his last day.
Claude was preceded in death by sisters, Patricia Chubb and Arline Richcreek.
He is survived by nephews, Terry Chubb and Michael Richcreek; stepchildren, Eugene Cooper Jr. and Debra Bowman; along with six grandchildren, Danielle, Kyle, Katelyn, Jeff, Michael, and Olivia; plus three great-grandchildren, Nolan, Graham, and Porter, to which he took great pride.
The family is grateful for the loving care provided by all the staff during his stay at Cornwall Manor, Cornwall, PA.
Viewing will be held on Wednesday, June 28, 2023, from 1 – 2 PM at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 723 Lehman St., Lebanon. Funeral services will be held on the same day at 2 PM. Burial will be held on Monday, July 3, 2023, at 1 PM at Mt. Lebanon Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requested donations be sent to The Salvation Army in his name.
