Constance K. “Connie” (Ernfield) Shaak, 72, of Myerstown, PA, passed away on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, at WellSpan Good Samaritan Hospital in Lebanon. For 45 years, she was married to the love of her life, Thomas E. Shaak, who passed away in 2016.
Born in Jackson Township, Myerstown, on Aug. 31, 1952, Connie was the youngest of six children. She was a daughter of the late Bertha Brown and a stepdaughter of the late Felix Kline.
After graduating from ELCO High School in 1970, Connie furthered her education at Empire Beauty School. She spent her career in the floral, plant, and gift industry and served as the manager of a flower shop in Myerstown, where she was widely known for her extensive knowledge of plants and her warm rapport with customers.
Connie was a member of Myerstown UCC, and she served as secretary of the Myerstown VFW Post 6076 Ladies Auxiliary. She was also a member of the Myerstown Women’s Club. Connie found immense joy in antiquing and traveling, especially alongside Tom, her late husband.
It was her role as a devoted grandmother that brought her the greatest happiness. Known and adored as “Gigi” to Emily Jane Sebastian, Alexander Thomas Sebastian, Ethan Thomas Wilkes, and Ella Jane Wilkes, she was ever-present in their lives and deeply involved in their activities.
Connie is survived by her daughters, Rachel L., wife of Patrick Sebastian, of Wyomissing, Emily J., wife of Jay Wilkes, of Collegeville; sisters, Loretta Stamm, of Myerstown, and Jeannette Yeakley, of Bethel; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister, Kathleen Weik; and brothers, John Ernfield and Harry Ernfield.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at 11 a.m., at Grose Funeral Home, 358 W. Washington Ave., Myerstown. A visitation will precede the service, beginning at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery, Myerstown.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the VFW Post 6076 Ladies Auxiliary, 410 W. Main Ave., Myerstown, PA 17067.
