Cyril “Cy” R. Deck, 91, of Cornwall, passed away suddenly at his home on Thursday, Nov. 6, 2025. He was the beloved husband of Cecilia S. (Sullivan) Deck, with whom he shared 65 wonderful years of marriage.

Born in Myerstown, PA, on Oct. 11, 1934, Cyril was the son of the late Raymond and Helen (Batdorf) Deck. He was a proud graduate of Lebanon Catholic High School, earned his degree in accounting from St. Vincent College, and went on to receive his Master’s in Business Administration from Temple University.

Cyril honorably served his country in the U.S. military during the Korean War from 1956 to 1958 and continued his service in the Active Reserves until 1960. Following his military service, Cyril enjoyed a successful career with AMP Inc., where he worked in accounting for 35 years before retiring in 1996.

Cyril was a devoted family man — the loving father of the late Daniel Deck, Suzanne Burton (Bob), and David Deck (Gena). He was the cherished grandfather of Bobby Burton (Beth) and Sarah Burton (Colin). Cyril is also survived by his dear siblings, Rich Deck (Sue) and Cathy Rossini and many nieces and nephews and was preceded in death by his sisters, Rose Kreider and Helen Cascarino.

Cyril was a humble, gentle, devout Catholic who led by quiet example, living life with an easygoing spirit and a love for good company. He ran his beloved Christmas tree farm, Deck Acres, side-by-side with his brother, creating lasting traditions for family and friends each holiday season. He doted on his wife, Celie, always remembering to cover her with a blanket each night — a simple gesture that spoke volumes of his love and devotion. Cyril loved the greens of a golf course, a spirited game of pinochle, and his treasured Friday breakfasts with friends. Cyril was meticulous with his lawn, shrubbery, and painting around their home. He delighted in dinners out, cruises, and moments shared with family, often finishing a meal with his favorite treat — a slice of toasted coconut pecan pie. Above all, he will be remembered for his thoughtfulness, kind heart, and generous spirit.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2025, at St. Mary’s Church, 2 N. 8th St., Lebanon, PA 17046. Interment with full military honors will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. A visitation will be held prior to Mass from 10-11 a.m. at the church.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Cyril’s name may be made to Our Lady of the Cross School, 1691 Grace Ave., Lebanon, PA 17046. Thompson Funeral Home Inc. is entrusted with the arrangements.
