Daniel Curtis Souders, 53, affectionately known as “Danny” to his family, passed quietly at his Hebron home in the early morning hours of Dec. 24, 2020. Daniel was preceded in death by his father, the late Curtis Harry Souders, of Myerstown, PA, and his mother, the late Geraldine (Binkley) Souders, of Avon Heights.

Daniel was born in Lebanon, PA on May 12, 1967, to Geraldine Cooper. He was a 1985 graduate of Cedar Crest High School. He participated in many sports in high school, such as track and field, cross country, and soccer. After graduation, he held multiple jobs, working for Tony’s Pizza and then for Cheyney’s Seafood as a delivery driver for several years. He eventually went to work for REM Automotive in Palmyra, PA as a Machine Operator, a position he held for 15 years. He was most recently employed by Tait Towers in Lititz, PA, first as a CNC Machine Operator and then as a CNC Programmer, a job he truly loved.

Daniel was an active man who enjoyed hiking, fishing, biking, bird watching, and simply working in his backyard and flower gardens, amongst many other things. He played softball for Pucillo’s Pizza and played street hockey for a number of years. He hiked the Appalachian Trail with his wife, Angelina, and friends, completing the section in PA and covered the entire stretch in MD by himself. He enjoyed traveling, first as a boy with his family and then as an adult with his friends and wife. His sharp wit and sarcastic sense of humor were loved by (mostly) all, especially his wife. He will be deeply missed by his family, his friends, and all who knew him.

Daniel is survived by his wife, Angelina Mary (Payne) Souders, of Hebron (formerly New Cumberland), PA, stepsons, Brandon McNaull, of Lebanon, and Matthew Rittle, of Lebanon, and step-grandchildren, Madison, Parker, and Aspen.
