Daniel Warren Silknetter, 66, son of John (Jack) and Lorraine (Theis) Silknetter, a native of Lancaster County and most recently of Lebanon, PA, died in the early hours of Nov. 2, 2025.

Dan graduated from Hempfield High School in 1977 and from Penn State DuBois in 1979. He worked a variety of jobs throughout his life, including logging, construction, and consulting work with various ecological firms. He was a craftsman. As a field biologist, his passion was working with reptiles and amphibians. He loved music, nature, dogs, family, and campfires with friends.

Dan is survived by his wife, Michaella, sons, Jasper (Allison Williams) and Samuel (Allison Stamey), and their children; daughter, Lily; sister, Jenny (Al Garrison); and nieces and nephews to whom he was affectionately “Uncle Dan.” He was preceded in death by his parents and many beloved pets.

Funeral services will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Donations in Dan’s honor can be made to The Chesapeake Bay Foundation (www.CBF.org). Thompson Funeral Home Inc. is entrusted with the arrangements.
