Darla J. McKeown-Hite passed into eternal rest with family at her side on Jan. 30, 2021, following a brief illness.

She was born Easter Sunday, Mar. 24, 1940, in Bradford, PA. She was preceded in death by her parents, Russell and Juniatta Knight, formerly of Palmyra, PA, and Robert Knight, formerly of Lake Isabella, CA, and niece, Jennifer Knight, and John McKeown and Charles Hite, Sr. She was endeared by her children, John (Holly) McKeown, of Farmington, NY, Kim (Chris) Heisey, of Mechanicsburg, Jay (Deanna) McKeown, of Middletown, and Melissa Geistwite, of Palmyra. She leaves behind a brother, Jeff (Barb) Knight, of Indiana, PA, and grandchildren, Gwen, Jennifer, Nicholas, Aaron, and Joshua, as well as nephews, Robby, Mark, Greg, and Russy, and a niece, Christine (Leron) Lehman, of Lebanon, PA.

Darla loved working. She was a 34-year employee of Hershey Medical Center, first working in the microbiology lab, then working in various clinics, and spent her final years at the information desk. Friends and loved ones will miss Darla for her sweetness, kindness, and friendliness. She had a warm smile and infectious laugh. She loved her family, animals, especially cats, gardening, and music.

Services will be private.
