Darlene D. Leeper, 76, of Jonestown, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, March 31, 2024, at her home. She was the devoted wife of William W. Leeper. They would have celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary on Aug. 1.
Born in Lebanon on Feb. 26, 1948, she was the daughter of the late Irvin I. and Dorothy A. Kunkle Althouse.
Darlene worked for the Loan Department at Lebanon Co. Trust for 10 years. She then retired in 2008 from the Northern Lebanon School District after 24 years of service in the cafeteria. She was a member of the Lebanon Bible Fellowship Church and a Sunday School teacher for many years. She enjoyed traveling and observing God’s creation at many National Parks. She enjoyed reading, especially the Bible, which she read through many years. Darlene loved her family dearly and enjoyed spending time with them.
She was a wonderful mother to Julie A., wife of Chris Muritz, of Jonestown. She was a caring and thoughtful grandmother to her grandchildren, Alex and Emma, with whom she loved playing and making treats. She was preceded in death by her brother, Bruce I. Althouse.
Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 4, 2024, at the Lebanon Bible Fellowship Church, 1635 Mill Road, Lebanon. There will be a viewing beginning at 6 p.m. until the start of the service. Interment will be at 10:30 a.m. on Friday at Host Church Cemetery, Bernville.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to her church.
