David Alan Brandt passed away on August 19th, 2022, at Wellspan Good Samaritan Hospital, at the age of 68, in his hometown of Lebanon, PA.

Dave was a 1973 graduate of Lebanon High School, where he enjoyed playing on the baseball and basketball teams. He also attended Vo-Tech for machine shop. For over 40 years, he was an employee of Lebanon Tool Company/PRL Industries. He played fast-pitch softball in the leagues around Lebanon, as well as various men’s basketball leagues for many years. Dave coached little league baseball for several years for Independent, Friendship, and Palmyra. As an avid Philadelphia sports fan, he learned one of his most admirable traits- patience. Above all, he loved his family. He was always willing to give a helping hand, no matter the situation. He was constantly supportive of everything his children did and always quick with a “dad joke.” There never seems to be anyone around that has a negative thing to say about “Big Dave.”

Dave was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Joyce Brandt of Lebanon, and a brother, Michael. He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Kathleen (Burkholder), his children, Jamie (Kevin) Andrzejewski of Thorndale and Jeremy of Lebanon; his siblings, Wendy (Kenneth) Long of Lebanon and Steven (Deborah) of Palmyra. Dave was also extremely close to his in-laws and is survived by his mother- and father-in-law, Justina and Robert Burkholder of Lebanon, and his siblings-in-law, Robert Jr (Elizabeth) of West Chester, Thomas (Jen) of Palmyra, Lisa (John) Long of Lebanon, and Kevin (Gina) of Ephrata. In addition, he leaves many nieces and nephews that he loved dearly.

A visitation will be held at Thompson Funeral Home, Inc., 126 South 9th Street in Lebanon on Saturday, September 3rd, beginning at 10:00, with Words of Remembrance being shared at 11:15 AM.
