David E. Haag, 79, of Myerstown, PA, died on Thursday, Sept. 25, 2025, at his residence. He was the husband of Joan M. (Brubaker) Haag, to whom he was married for 56 years on July 5, 2025.
Born in Lebanon, PA, on May 21, 1946, David was a son of the late Thomas and Helen (Fortna) Haag. He was a 1964 graduate of ELCO High School and a 1968 graduate of Penn State University, where he earned his Bachelor of Science in finance. He served in the U.S. Army as a Captain in the Vietnam War. He worked part-time at the Manheim Auto Auction.
David was a former member of the Myerstown Rotary Club, a member of Disabled Veterans, and a life member of the American Legion, 173rd Airborne Brigade Association, and the Military Order of the Purple Heart. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, cross-country skiing, and biking with his dog, Dallas.
In addition to his wife, David is survived by his daughter, Jessica, wife of Ronald Owens, of Bellingham, WA; son, Jeffrey Haag, of Millbach; brothers, Timothy Haag, husband of Rita, of Lebanon, and Michael Haag, husband of Christine, of Myerstown; granddaughter, Phoebe Owens; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, Oct. 2, 2025, at 11:30 a.m., at Grose Funeral Home, 358 W. Washington Ave., Myerstown, PA, preceded by a visitation beginning at 10:30 a.m. Inurnment with military honors will be at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, PA.
