David E. Kleinfelter, 73, of Elizabethtown, and formerly of Lewistown and Lebanon, passed away on Saturday, December 3, 2022, at Masonic Village.
David was born in Lebanon on August 19, 1949, to the late Sterling E. and Elsie M. (Patches) Kleinfelter.
He was a council executive for The Boy Scouts of America. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Lewistown, PA, for 30 years, The Zembo Shrine, and The Valley of Harrisburg Scottish Rite as a 32nd-degree Mason. He was very active with the Boy Scouts of America, having lived in various places throughout his career, starting off living in Pittsburgh, then living in Michigan, New York, West Virginia, and Wisconsin. He ended his career with the Juniata Valley Boy Scout Council in Reedsville, PA.
He is survived by his children, Kristen Gilbert (Colin) and Kenneth Kleinfelter (Amber), and grandchildren, Taylor Gilbert and Kathleen Gilbert.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Audrey Kleinfelter, and sister, Sue Ann Wolfe.
As per David’s request, he has been cremated. His cremated remains will be buried at a tree at the Bashore Scout Reservation. There will be a Masonic service and a Celebration of Life held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you donate to the Boy Scouts of America Pennsylvania Dutch Council or a Shriner’s Hospital for Children in his name.
