David J. Wentling, 77, of Annville, passed away on October 9th, 2022. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Pamela (Forry) Wentling.

Born in Lebanon on August 18th, 1945, he was the son of the late Oliver and Esther Wentling.

David was a lifelong member of Annville Church of the Brethren and a 1963 graduate of Annville-Cleona High School. David earned his B.S. from Pennsylvania State University and an M. Ed. from Shippensburg State College.

He challenged the curious minds of 7th graders in the world of science during his lifelong teaching career at Cornwall Lebanon Middle School. Outside of school, he enjoyed hunting, woodworking, boating, coaching, fishing, reading, and traveling. David also enjoyed quiet moments visiting with family and friends, the best nights ending with playing a game of pinochle.

He is survived by his wife, daughter, Amy Wentling-Raegner, and her husband, Edward Raegner, of Colorado, granddaughter, Lillie Raegner, brother, Robert Wentling and his wife, Sally, of Cleona, sister-in-law, Theresa Wentling of Annville and eight nieces and nephews: Mike, Bob, Matt, Pat, Liz, Nate, Carrie, and Jon.

David was preceded in death by his brother, Michael Wentling.

A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, October 15th, 2022, at Annville Church of the Brethren, 495 E, Maple St., Annville, PA 17003. A visitation and luncheon will take place at the Church following the service.
