David L. Herb, 78, of Fredericksburg, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 11, 2024, at his home. He was the husband of Donna R. Pence Herb. On Dec. 9, they celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary.

Born in Lebanon on Oct. 14, 1945, he was the son of the late Frank Sr. and Margaret Smith Herb.

Following high school, he served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Conflict. He worked for the former Sowers Printing Co. He retired from the Pemcore Printing Co. He was a member of the Lebanon Bible Fellowship Church, where he served as an elder for many years.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughters, Lisa L., wife of Charles Pillsbury, and Jessica J. Herb, both of Fredericksburg; granddaughters, Madison, Annika, and Esmee; brothers, Rev. John Herb, of Hatfield, and Leroy Herb, of Myerstown; and sisters, Fern Gish, of Lebanon, and Karen Myers, of Myerstown.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Rev. George Herb, Rev. Frank Herb Jr., Jack Herb Sr., and Raymond Herb Sr.; and sisters, Anna Roark, Patricia Hoover, and Lena Ensminger.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2024, at 11:30 a.m., at the Lebanon Bible Fellowship Church, 1635 Mill Road, Lebanon, 17042. A viewing will be held at the church on Monday evening from 6-8 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday. Interment with military honors will be held at the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to his church.
