David “Dave” Wagner passed away at home peacefully in his favorite recliner on Jan. 3, 2024.
He was born on Jan. 31, 1946, in Lebanon, PA, to the late Elsie Irene Sholley nee Wagner and the late Thomas James Albert Jr.
He was a proud veteran and a huge Elvis Presley fan. Anyone who walked into the house could clearly see that by his many Elvis treasures all over the home, including his lamp of Elvis’ head. He had a love for all things movies or music and loved to listen to his records and dance when not watching TV or reading. He also very much enjoyed cooking, baking, and entertaining for most of his life. From huge family cookouts to holiday parties and Sunday dinners, Dave’s cooking was always top-notch. He had many friends and friends that became family over the years from sitting on the front porch, going to places around town, and more. In his later years, he enjoyed family visits (especially the nieces and nephews), cookouts, parades, sitting on the porch, and taking naps in his recliner.
Surviving is his life partner, Dennis Strausser; sister, Faith Sholley; brother, Mark Sholley; nieces, Heather Sholley, spouse to Randy Prestridge, and Andrea Dunlap, spouse to Bobby Beaver; great-nieces and -nephews, Alexander, Randy Jr., Hunter, Connor, Madeline, and Rebeka; his sister-in-love, Kathleen Drzewiecki nee Strausser, spouse to Leo Drzewiecki; and many loving cousins.
He was preceded in death, in addition to his mother, by his stepfather, Frank Kline; brother, James (Jim) Wagner; and brother-in-love, Paul Hammer.
Visitation will be on Saturday, Jan. 13, 2024, from 10-11 a.m. at Lebanon Gospel Center, 27 N. 10th St., Lebanon. Memorial services will be on Saturday, Jan. 13, 2024, at 11 a.m. at the Lebanon Gospel Center.
