David Patrick Finger, 92, of Lebanon, peacefully passed into the arms of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on March 9, 2026. He was the loving husband of Joan (Wonder) Finger, to whom he was married for 43 years. Dave and Joan’s spiritual journey continues to be enriched by their 43-year membership in Christ Church UCC in Annville.

Born in Bethlehem, PA, Dave was a son of Frederick and Anastasia (Curran) Finger. Following graduation from Valley Forge Military Academy, he earned his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Lehigh University. Dave was then accepted into Bethlehem Steel’s “Loop” program, which exposed new employees to the company’s steel, mining, and ship-building operations. He ultimately chose their mining division and moved to Hanover, PA, to begin his 30-year career with Bethlehem. In 1972, he was transferred to Bethlehem’s Millard Quarry in Annville and, through his strong work ethic, was promoted to steward the entire mining operation as general manager until his retirement in 1986. Not one to sit idle, Dave then acquired his real estate license and enjoyed a successful career with the Horst Group. Shortly thereafter, Broyhill and Associates Inc. hired him as property manager of its southcentral PA real estate and mining interests. His final business venture was with his son, Robert, as co-owner and operator of Blue Mountain Building Stone Inc., a quarrier and distributor of natural and manufactured stone products.

In his free time, bowling and golf were among Dave’s favorite interests, especially if Joan was by his side. No doubt she was his good-luck charm when he bowled two 300 games and hit a hole-in-one on the golf course! Known for his quick wit and compassion, Dave was an inspiration to those around him.

In addition to Joan, Dave is survived by his children, Karen, wife of Bill Kettering, Jan, wife of Bill Newell, and Robert Finger, and his wife, Debbie. He was a wonderful “Pap” to six grandchildren, Michael Kettering (April), Matthew Newell (Stephanie), Thomas Newell (Caroline), Tyler Newell (Kristina), James Finger, and Sarah Gette (Ben); and five (soon-to-be six!) great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his siblings, Elizabeth Sutton, James Finger, William Finger, Robert Finger, and John Finger.
