David W. Batchelor, 65, of Lebanon, passed away on Saturday, July 29, 2023, at the Penn State Hershey Medical Center. He was the husband of Kathleen M. Weaver Batchelor. On Sept. 21, they would have celebrated their 27th wedding anniversary.

Born in Chester, PA on Dec. 30, 1957, he was the son of the late Aaron and Arlene Coryell Batchelor, III.

Following high school, he served for 10 years in the U.S. Marine Corp. After 28 years of service, he retired from The Hershey Co., where he had been a maintenance mechanic. His passion was drag racing since his teens. He was the owner and driver of Batchelor Party Racing. He loved people and was always making new friends. He enjoyed life, playing poker with his friends, and fishing. He was a member of the NHRA and the Jonestown Gun Club, where he enjoyed target practicing.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sister, Linda Batchelor, of Darby; mother-in-law, Suzanne Weaver, of Lebanon; in-laws, Joanne (Ed) Winters, of Lebanon, Douglas (Hilary) Weaver, of Sinking Springs, and Greg (Susan) Weaver, of Lebanon; nephews, Corey Batchelor, Ryan Winters, and Cameron Weaver; and his “favorite niece,” Erin Hubbard.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Jon and Aaron Batchelor IV; and sister, Diane Ruh.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 3, 2023, at the Kreamer & Lum Funeral Home & Crematory, Jonestown. The viewing will begin at 1 p.m. until the start of the service. Interment will be at the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
